Yay Reflects On VCT PACIFIC 2024 Kick-Off: My Teammates Aren’t At Fault. It’s All My Fault.

Yay Reflects On VCT PACIFIC 2024 Kick-Off, During the VCT PACIFIC 2024 KICK-OFF in South Korea, Bleed Esports faced defeats against T1 and Global Esports as a result, they got knocked out in the group stage.

However, one of their players, yay, shared thoughts on the tournament via his social media platform, X. Yay was known for his mastery with Jett and Chamber, but in this event, he showcased his versatility by playing as a duelist, as well as using Viper and Skye.

Despite his efforts, both matches against T1 and Global Esports ended unfavorably. Yay’s individual performance didn’t fare well either, managing 38 kills and 42 deaths against T1, and 35 kills and 49 deaths against Global Esports.

Concerns about his performance arose from the community, to which yay admitted responsibility for the tournament outcome.

Responding to criticism, yay expressed, “Your comments are harsh. Honestly, I couldn’t comprehend what was happening in the last match. My vision had never blurred during a game, but I couldn’t react to the opponents on the screen at all.

I simply couldn’t do it. I’m not sure what caused it. I know many are upset, but believe me, it’s not the coach or my teammates’ fault. If blame is to be placed, it’s on me. It’s my fault.”

Additionally, yay has been struggling with poor performance, not securing a win in an official match for over a year.

Recalling last year’s seven consecutive losses with his former team Disguised in the North American Challenger League, he lamented, “Being a paid professional, this is truly disappointing. I intend to donate my last paycheck to charity.”

He surprised everyone with his transfer from America to the Pacific League last November with chamber gaining traction in the competitive scene, there’s anticipation whether he can replicate his past success in Asia.

Especially after his remarkable performance in 2022. Expectations are high for VCT PACIFIC 2024 Stage 1, commencing in April.
