In Japan, the main part of VCJ 2024 Split 1 Main Stage Day 2 is happening now, and it’s all about getting to the playoffs. On Day 1, FENNEL won against SCARZ with a score of 2-1, and REJECT beat IGZIST with a score of 2-0.

VCJ 2024 Split 1

VCJ 2024 Split 1 is an official tournament by riot games going from january to march 2024. There are three stages: open qualifiers, main stage, and playoffs. The team winning the playoffs gets the title of national champion, prize money, and a spot in Split 2.

The eight teams that made it through the open qualifiers are now in the main stage. Currently, they’re playing in a round-robin format, and the top six teams will move on to the playoffs.

Tournament format

OPEN QUALIFIER

Open Qualifier Format

Event dates: January 22nd (Monday), January 23rd (Tuesday), January 24th (Wednesday), 2024. There are eight tournaments, each with up to 8 teams, using a double-elimination format.

A max of 64 teams can play. Matches are BO3, and the top team from each tournament (8 teams total) moves on to the Main Stage.

Event dates: February 3rd (Sat), February 4th (Sunday), February 10th (Saturday), February 11th (Sunday), February 12th (Monday), February 15th (2024 Thursday), February 16th (Friday), March 2nd (Saturday), March 3rd (Sunday), March 8th (Friday), March 9th (Saturday), March 10th (Sunday).

The main stage has a round-robin format between the eight Open Qualifier teams. Matches are BO3, and the top six teams move on to the Playoffs.

Event schedule

Online event: Monday, March 12, 2024, and Tuesday, March 13, 2024 Offline event: Saturday, March 30, 2023, and Sunday, March 31, 2023. The top 6 teams from the Main Stage compete, seeded based on their ranking.

Round 1

(Match 1) 3rd place team vs. 6th place team (Match 2) 4th place team vs. 5th place team └The winners go to Round 2, and the losers are out.

Round 2

(Match 3) 1st place team vs. 2nd place team └The winner goes to the Final, and the loser moves to Round 3. (Match 4) Playoff Round 1 Match between winning teams └The winner goes to Round 3, and the loser is out.

Round 3

(Match 5) A match between two teams from Round 2, The winner goes to the Finals, and the loser is out.<Final>

(Match 6) Winner of Match 3 vs. Winner of Match 5, The winner is the Split 1 champion.

About ADVANCE STAGE

After Split 1, there’s the Advance Stage, a promotion/relegation stage for teams in Valorant Challengers Japan and Premier teams.

Teams from Split 1 Main Stage and Premier winners compete for a spot in Valorant Challengers Japan Split 2. Teams wanting to join Challengers for Split 2 must earn the right by competing in Premier.

PRIZE MONEY

Prize money according to the final ranking for each split:

  • 1st place: 2,000,000 yen
  • 2nd place: 1,250,000 yen
  • 3rd place: 750,000 yen
  • 4th place: 400,000 yen
  • 5th place: 200,000 yen
  • 6th place: 200,000 yen
  • 7th place: 100,000 yen
  • 8th place: 100,000 yen
