100 Thieves Owner Criticizes Valorant Tournament Format: Only 2 Losses, No Matches Until April

So, what’s the deal with valorant’s tournament setup? It’s pretty bad, according to the 100 Thieves owner. We’ve only had two losses, but now we’re out until April. Can you believe it?

Yep, 100 Thieves got knocked out by Leviatán and Sentinels at the VCT AMERICAS 2024 KICK-OFF in Los Angeles. And now, we won’t be playing any official matches until April.

But our co-owner, CouRage, isn’t happy about it. He’s saying there aren’t enough matches and the schedule’s all messed up. He even tweeted, “It’s so bad it makes me laugh.”

The Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) for 2024 is split into three parts: KICK-OFF, Stage 1, and Stage 2. Last year, it was all about round-robin tournaments, but now, Stage 1 and Stage 2 will have five games each.

Every team will face off against each other twice but people aren’t happy. Some teams, like the 100 Thieves, are barely getting any playtime. They’re only getting 12 games a year!

Chet, the head coach of NRG, also spoke out about the tournament format. He said, “100 Thieves waited six months just to play two games, and then they’re off for another month. It’s a terrible schedule.” And he’s not the only one complaining.

The Chan Leisure League is in an even tougher spot. M80, for example, hasn’t had an official game since July last year! That’s eight months of waiting around.

Leo Faria, the head of esports for valorant, talked about shortening the offseason, but he’s not thinking about adding more games.

With fewer games and everyone feeling burned out, people are wondering what changes will come next year. Looks like we’ll have to wait and see.
